At the March 19 meeting of the St. Luke Lutheran Men’s Prayer Breakfast Group its members were pleased to make a donation of $510 to South Carolina Lutheran Retreat Centers. Funds are raised by love offerings made by the men who attend the weekly meetings throughout the year and presented to service organizations working in the Columbia Community. Executive director Dallas Shealy accepted the gift on behalf of SCLRC.

South Carolina Lutheran Retreat Centers is a ministry of the South Carolina Lutheran Synod (ELCA), and operates two retreat centers: Camp Kinard near Batesburg-Leesville and the Coastal Retreat Center on the Isle of Palms. Since 1972 the SCLRC has been providing holy spaces for Lutheran and other church denominations and organizations to use for retreats, camps, and conferences. It is currently fundraising to expand and enhance Camp Kinard to better serve those seeking a holy place for God to change lives. In February 2024 a new swimming pool was dedicated. This will allow campers, both children and adults, to cool off from the summer heat while on retreat.

St. Luke Lutheran Church is located at 1127 Olympia Avenue. Sunday School is held at 10 a.m. and Worship Service is held at 11 a. m. every Sunday. St. Luke Lutheran Church has been serving the Olympia Community and the greater Columbia area since 1904. All are welcome.
