Richland School District Two adult education program enrolling for January classes




The Adult Education Program of Richland School District Two is enrolling for the 2012-13 school year. Classes have begun.

The Rogers Center offers classes to complete high school diploma requirements, GED test preparation, HSAP remediation, WorkKeys, English as a Second Language, and Adult Basic Education. Applicants enroll at the Rogers Center, 750 Old Clemson Road.

Students may take classes to complete high school diploma requirements 8:30 a.m.–12:10 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 6–8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursdays. HSAP classes are held 8:30–10:30 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays. GED preparation Classes are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–12:10 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6–8 p.m. Adult Basic Education class is Mondays, 8:30–11:30 a.m. WorkKeys Career Readiness Class is Wednesdays, 8:30–11:30 a.m. English as a Second Language classes are Tuesday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m.–noon or Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5–7 p.m.

Registration has begun for community education classes. Students may register until classes begin; however, early registration is recommended as courses fill early. For further information on any course offered, call 736- 8787 ext. 25103. All classes meet at the Rogers Center.

Introduct ion to Computer Class: This course is for the complete beginner and is the perfect starting point to help with a personal computer. Basic skills will be learned, such as how to use a mouse and navigate around the desktop. From the first class, students will have hands on the keyboard and have plenty of time to practice and build confidence. Class is limited to 10 persons. Class meets on Monday and Wednesdays beginning January 14, four weeks, eight sessions, 1–3 p.m., $60. Seniors 60 and over $30.

Introduct ion to Computers II: This class is for persons who have completed the Introduction to Computer Class and would like to further their training. This class addresses special concerns and builds confidence and skills. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1–3 pm, beginning January 15, $60. Seniors 60 and over $30.
