Susanna Shirah Stump and Dr. Sanford Manning Zeigler
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Stump III of Fort Valley, Georgia, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Susanna Shirah, to Dr. Sanford Manning Zeigler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Belton Townsend Zeigler of Columbia, South Carolina. The wedding will take place March 31, 2012, at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church in Savannah, Georgia.
Miss Stump is the granddaughter of Rev. Dr. and Mrs. A. Jason Shirah of Savannah and Dr. Robert Lee Stump Jr. and the late Mrs. Marion Stringam Stump of Valdosta, Georgia. A 2004 honor graduate of the Westfield Schools of Perry, Georgia, the bride elect graduated magna cum laude from Georgia Southern University in 2008 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. She is a pediatric cardiology nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Zeigler is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Noel Zeigler, Jr. of Florence, South Carolina, and the late Mr. Burwell D. Manning, Jr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Sanford Lane of Columbia, South Carolina. A 2003 graduate and valedictorian of Episcopal High School of Alexandria, Virginia, Dr. Zeigler graduated from The University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee in 2007 with a degree in English, summa cum laude, where he was a member of the Red Ribbon Society, the Phi Society of 1883, and a Wilkins scholar. He completed his medical studies at the Medical University of South Carolina as a James B. Edwards scholar and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine in 2011. He is completing his internship in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Program at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto, California. After a honeymoon, the couple will live in Menlo Park, California.
