Miss Harris and Mr. Harbula Exchange Vows March 23, 2024

Brittain Anne Harris, of Columbia, and Kevin Stanley Harbula, of Midlothian, Va., were united in marriage on March 23, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia. The Reverend Ransom Kent and The Reverend David Lauten officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the South Carolina State Museum.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Poole Harris, of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joanne Rasberry Harris and the late Mr. Merrelle Washington Harris and the late Major General and Mrs. T. Eston Marchant, all of Columbia. She is a graduate of Hammond School and Furman University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in health science and religion. She earned a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the Medical University of South Carolina and is currently employed by Team Therapy. Following the wedding, she will be employed by the Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Calder Harbula and the late Mr. Glenn Richard Harbula, of Midlothian, Va. He is the grandson of Mrs. Josephine Gurrieri Harbula and the late Mr. Albert Richard Harbula of Sun City, Ariz. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Welford Calder of Waynesboro, Va. He is a graduate of Midlothian High School and the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is currently employed at Savannah River National Laboratory as a senior engineer.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Organist Thomas Russell and cellist Campbell Cathcart provided music for the ceremony.

The bride’s sister, Caroline Harris Hill, served as the matron of honor. The bride’s sister, Marchant Elizabeth Harris, served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Wakely Adams, Katherine Harbula Cin, Evelvn Ann Borucki DeMass, Whatley Foss Hamilton, Erin Coiley Harbula, Meredith Miles Keisler, Madeline East Rusnak, and Brittany Crawn Shumpert.

The groom’s brothers, Keith Richard Harbula and Kenneth Glenn Harbula, served as the best men. Groomsmen were Cameron West Calder, Jonathan William Cin, Charles Grayson Hill, and Christopher Lee Schifer.

After a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple will reside in North Augusta, S.C.
