After the big flood in 2015, Forest Acres has been working on a project along Gills Creek to redo the bridges and create an accesible park for the community. Three million dollars later, with lots of help from local businesses, supporters, and SCODT, Gills Creek Memorial Park opened Thursday, April 18. The park includes a walkway along Gills Creek with areas to fish and enjoy the water. Along with a stage and a memorial for our fallen heroes, the park also boasts a splash pad and room for families to gather for picnics and parties.
