Animal Mission has announced the launch of a new fundraising campaign to complete its goal of providing a bed for every dog currently housed at the City of Columbia’s animal shelter. The fundraiser launched online July 1 and will continue until the goal is met.
Providing a shelter-quality bed for every kennel at the facility (over 160 total) is the ultimate goal of the project. Through fundraising efforts over the last 18 months, Animal Mission has so far already purchased 96 of those beds. Now, with the assistance of Soda City Market’s vendors and customers, both organizations hope to fund the purchase of the remaining 65 beds before the colder winter months arrive. Funds will also be used for the purchase of replacement parts to keep the beds in service for many years to come.
Contributions may be made online at animalmission.org or by mail. The two organizations hope the fundraiser will make the stay of dogs at the facility a little more comfortable while they wait for their turn to meet their new families.

Animal Mission is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of homeless pets in S.C. by enabling accessible and affordable spay/neuter for pet owners in the Midlands.
