The South Carolina Debutante Ball presents four daughters and one granddaughter


 

 

The South Carolina Debutante Ball presented four daughters and one granddaughter on Thursday, December 18, at Forest Lake Club.

Debutantes, first sons, and their fathers received guests at a reception prior to the Ball. A violin soloist, Mrs. Erika Cutler, performed during the reception, providing a graceful prelude to the evening’s festivities. Also receiving guests and seated at the head table were Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Bruce Truluck, Chairman of the Board; Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Faulks Eaddy, President of the Ball; Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Tyree Barnes, President-Elect and Chairman of the Ball; and Mr. and Mrs. James Carter Jeffords, Vice-President and Co-Chairman of the Ball.

The presentation of the debutantes was followed by the debutante figure, gracefully led by Miss Sallie Chavis O’Connor. Miss Mary Deas Rhodes was the second lead debutante.

The debutante daughters presented included Miss Camille Ann Kristinik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Lawrence Kristinik III, escorted by Mr. Ryan Kumar San Juan; Miss Sallie Chavis O’Connor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Anthony O’Connor, escorted by Mr. James Burch Harrison; Miss Abigaile Isabella Park, daughter of The Doctors Park, escorted by Mr. Merritt Lyles Brazell; and Miss Mary Deas Rhodes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Roland Rhodes III, escorted by Mr. Michael Hunter Helmly.

 

 

The South Carolina Debutante Ball also presented one granddaughter: Miss Elizabeth McCarley Thompson, granddaughter of Mr. Stephen Thompson Draffin and the late Mrs. Stephen Thompson Draffin, presented by Mr. Stephen Thompson Draffin Jr., and escorted by Mr. Walker Thompson Draffin.

Post debutantes attending the Ball included Miss Sanders Lilla Bethea, escorted by Mr. John Patrick Keating II, Miss Frances Sides Blackstone, escorted by Mr. Curtis Lyman Ott Jr., and Miss Kate Paxton Oliver escorted by Mr. Tillman James Geddings.

Other invited guests included Mr. George Flynn Bowie III and Mr. Robert John McCardle III, grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Robert John McCardle.

Each debutante carried a beautifully hand-tied bouquet. The bouquets were a perfect blend of fifteen open red roses and fresh seasonal greenery accents, wrapped in ivory silk ribbon. The red rose, the signature flower of the South Carolina Debutante Ball since its founding in 1981, symbolizes grace, tradition, and enduring elegance.

Following the presentation and debutante figure, members, debutantes, and guests enjoyed a seated dinner and danced to the music of the Dick Goodwin Big Band. Coffee was served in the foyer.
