The South Carolina Debutante Ball presents eight daughters and two granddaughters


 

 

The South Carolina Debutante Ball presented eight daughters and two granddaughters on Thursday, December 19th at Forest Lake Club.

Debutantes, first sons, and their fathers received guests at a reception prior to the Ball. Also receiving guests and seated at the head table were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Joseph Coble Jr., Chairman of the Board; Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Bruce Truluck, President of the Ball; Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Faulks Eaddy, President-Elect and Chairman of the Ball; and Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Tyree Barnes, Vice-President and Co-Chairman of the Ball.

The presentation of the debutantes was followed by the debutante figure, gracefully led by Miss Dorothy Grace Davidson. Miss Elloise Troup Bethea was the second lead debutante. The debutante daughters presented included: Miss Addison Raye Anders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Scott Anders, escorted by Mr. Theron Max Childress; Miss Elloise Troup Bethea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Partridge Bethea Jr., escorted by Mr. Charles Joseph Coble III; Miss Sanders Lilla Bethea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Partridge Bethea Jr., escorted by Mr. Andrew Carl English IV; Miss Frances Sides Blackstone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Whitmel Blackstone, escorted by Mr. Curtis Lyman Ott Jr.; Miss Dorothy Grace Davidson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gage Davidson Jr., escorted by Mr. Duncan McIntyre Moorman; Miss Elizabeth Morgan Echols, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Louis Echols Jr., escorted by Mr. William Emmet Hough III; Miss Kate Paxton Oliver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Hampton Oliver, escorted by Mr. William Tilghman Osborne; Miss Lillian Grace Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brandon Ansel Smith, escorted by Mr. Grayden Drake Davis. Unable to attend the Ball was debutante daughter, Miss Sallie Marion Moses, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dowlin Moses.

 

 

The debutante granddaughters presented were: Miss Cynthia Grace Kepley, granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Howard Kepley and the late Mr. Thomas Howard Kepley, presented by Mr. Jeffrey Walker Inabinet Jr., and escorted by Mr. Thomas Howard Kepley III; and Miss Rebecca Caroline Watson, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Carroll Faulk, escorted by Mr. William Lee Kepley. The first sons of the Ball were Mr. Charles Joseph Coble III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jospeh Coble Jr.; Mr. William Emmet Hough III, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Emmet Hough Jr.; Mr. Lucas Carter Jeffords, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carter Jeffords; Mr. William Tilghman Osborne, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Arthur Osborne; and Mr. Curtis Lyman Ott Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Lyman Ott. Post debutantes attending the Ball were: Miss Lucy Leigh McCardle, escorted by Mr. Weston Cook Rupert; and Miss Olivia Walden Merrit, escorted by Mr. Thayne Spears Goodlett.

Each debutante carried a beautifully hand tied bouquet. The bouquets were a perfect blend of 15 open red roses and fresh seasonal greenery accents wrapped in ivory silk ribbon.

Following the presentation and debutante figure, the members, debutantes, and guests enjoyed a seated dinner and danced to the music of the Dick Goodwin Big Band. Coffee was served in the foyer.
