The Carolinian Society’s annual ball was held Saturday, January 4, at The Old Newberry Hotel in Newberry, South Carolina.

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Eric Quattlebaum, chairs of the Board of Governors, along with the debutantes and their sponsors, received the members and their guests.

The festivities began at 8 p.m. with the reception followed by the presentation of the debutantes. Mr. Frank James Downs introduced the Carolinian Society members presenting the debutantes.

The presentation of the debutantes was followed by the Grand March, dancing, and dinner.

Four young ladies made their debut this year.

Miss Kelsey Lane Buckley, daughter of Ms. Haley Chandler Bellows Buckley of Newberry, granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Howard Bellows of Newberry, and great-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Robert Harbison of Columbia, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Arthur Bellows of Grass Valley, California, and Olivia, Minnesota. She was presented by her grandfather and escorted by Mr. Samuel George Hawkins.

Serving on the Board of Governors with the Quattlebaums are Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Paul Bayuk; Dr. and Mrs. John Campbell Lake, Jr.; Mr.and Mrs. Sean Frank Pomeroy; and Dr. Charles Clinton Harshaw.

The Ball Committee, chaired by Mr. and Mrs. Frank James Downs, includes Mr. and Mrs. James Channing Franklin and Mr. and Mrs. Kevin William Whitesides.
