Contributed by Sisters of Charity ProvidenceHospitals

Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals has donated $5,000 to Healthy Learners. The gift was made in honor of the physicians on its medical staff as part of its Doctors’ Day recognition activities. Healthy Learners is an organization dedicated to improving the health and well being of school children from economically disadvantaged families in an effort to improve their quality of life.

“Our physicians are dedicated to not only our patients and our mission, but also to our community,” says Stephen A. Purves, Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals president and CEO. “Many of them give their time to Healthy Learners. We thought such a contribution would be a fitting acknowledgement of their commitment to serving mankind,” said Purves.

Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals is sponsored by Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine Health System and is comprised of Providence Hospital, Providence Heart Institute, Providence Orthopaedic & NeuroSpine Institute, and Providence Hospital Northeast.
