The S.C. Military Museum celebrated the Army’s 250th birthday Saturday, June 14, with a free open house with dozens of exhibits showing off the history of the U.S. Army. From the Continental Army to present day, there were displays with live people showing off the uniforms, weapons, muskets, and even types of food the soldiers had to eat at that time. The Palmetto Pipes and Drums Corps marched and played a variety of military music and hymns during the day. There were live demonstrations of firing muskets and cannons showing visitors how long it took to fire and reload for just a single shot.
