Richland Northeast High School broadcast students took home three Student Production awards June 8 when they traveled to Atlanta to attend the Southeast Emmy Student Production awards at SCAD. They competed against over 500 entries from more than 35 schools from across the southeast. Only two high schools in South Carolina were even nominated. Breize Brown and Yasmin Lee won the Arts and Entertainment category for their feature about drag culture in Columbia. Caleb Daniels and Wade Fletcher won the Commercial category with their Senior Pics drug advertisement parody. But the most prestigious award is for Newscast. This is the most coveted award given each year. RNE-TV Live won Best Newscast.
