Richland One to feature young entrepreneurs’ lemonade with Thanksgiving meals at schools

Young entrepreneurs Faith and Malia Jeffcoat, twin sisters known as “The Lemonade Twins” who sell their homemade lemonade throughout Columbia, will have their beverage featured at Richland One schools for Thanksgiving.

For the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Richland One’s Nutrition Services department will serve Thanksgiving meals. The twins’ lemonade will be served to adults as part of the lunch program. Students at participating schools invite family members to attend.

“This is a great opportunity for parents to engage with their kids at school,” said Nutrition Services director Tracy Dixon. “We wanted to do something a little different for our guests. This is the perfect opportunity to showcase these young entrepreneurs because they’re from Richland One.”

Faith and Malia are students at Meadowfield Elementary School.

“ The Lemonade Twins” started their business in 2020. They hope to inspire other young entrepreneurs to start their own businesses. The twins can be seen at the Soda City Market in Downtown Columbia every Saturday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
