Zhaci Jones, a first-grade teacher at Carver Lyon Elementary School, was announced as Richland One’s 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year.
Outstanding employees and retirees from schools and departments throughout Richland One were honored during Celebration 2025, the district’s end-of-the-year employee recognition banquet held May 23 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
Keith Wilder, schools supervisor in the district’s Nutrition Services department, was announced as Richland One’s 2025-2026 Classified Employee of the Year.
Horrell Hill Elementary School teacher Kathryn Purushotham was announced as Richland One’s 2025-2026 Induction Teacher of the Year.
LaShonda Outing, director of procurement, warehouse and printing services, was recognized as the employee retiring this year with the most years of continuous service to Richland One (38 years).
