Two more Richland One high school seniors have been named 2025 South Carolina Teaching Fellows, bringing the district’s total to four.
The goal of the Teaching Fellows program is to recruit high school seniors into the teaching profession and help them develop leadership qualities.
Each year, the program provides fellowships for up to 230 high school seniors who have exhibited high academic achievement, a history of service to their school and community, and a desire to teach in South Carolina.
Dreher High School senior Anneliese Schaller and A.C. Flora High School senior Emily Walker will receive up to $24,000 (up to $6,000 a year for four years) in fellowship funds while they complete their college degrees leading to their initial teacher certifications.
Anneliese will study elementary education at Lander University. Emily will study dance education at Winthrop University.
Lower Richland High School senior Nathaniel Alford and A.C. Flora High School senior Nicholas Beitz were announced as South Carolina Teaching Fellows earlier this month.
