Alvin Allen, academic integration specialist in Richland One’s Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE), has been named the 2025 South Carolina Association for Career and Technical Education (SCACTE) Teacher Educator of the Year.

SCACTE’s goal is to “empower educators to deliver high-quality CTE programs that ensure all students are in positions for career success.”

Allen has been working in Richland One for 18 years and will be going into his fifth year as the academic integration specialist next school year.

“I was excited just to be recommended for the award, but actually winning it puts me on another level of excitement. I am thankful to work with great leadership and a great team,” he said.

“Showing the students that regular content areas like math, science, social studies, and English are used in everyday life, that’s what CTE stands for to me. Those regular content areas are not isolated. They’re within every job that you’re doing in everyday life.”

Allen will be recognized at SCACTE’s annual meeting June 23 during the SC Education + Business Summit in Greenville.
