Richland First Steps has announced its participation in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This program provides free meal benefits to children from families enrolled in Family Independence (FI) assistance units or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), ensuring access to nutritious meals that promote growth and development.
The USDA CACFP upholds a commitment to equal opportunity and complies with federal civil rights laws and USDA regulations, prohibiting discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability, age, or retaliation for prior civil rights activity.
Richland First Steps operates two no-cost Early Head Start/childcare centers:
• Virginia Wingard Site: 1500 Broad River Road
• Ridgewood Site: 5324 Ridgeway Street
