Primal Gourmet welcomes Always Original Bakery in partnership to feed frontline workers

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, frontline workers have been working long hours, often in emergency hospital conditions.

Seeing a need, Primal Gourmet, 725 Meeting Street, West Columbia, has had a matching donation program to deliver meals to Lexington Medical Center to feed frontline workers.

Now, Always Original

Bakery, which recently opened at 501 Meeting Street, is adding to this effort by supplying cookies for the meals delivered.

The two businesses connected through the newly reorganized WeCo River District Merchants’ Association.

George Grogan, co-owner of Always Original Bakery, said, “ We are proud to partner with Primal Gourmet in this collective effort to support our healthcare workers in the community. When we heard about the program, we jumped at the opportunity, because just like Primal Gourmet, we at Always Original Bakery are grateful for our community’s healthcare workers and first responders. This is one way we can say ‘thank you’ to them.”

Donations may be made via Venmo @primalgourmet or primalgourmetsc.com/give-back.

Always Original Bakery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
