Join Palladium, Historic Columbia’s group of dynamic professional members, from 7–10 p.m., October 28, in the gardens of the Hampton-Preston Mansion for the 17th annual Bluegrass, Bidding, & BBQ silent auction event.
Attendees will hear live bluegrass from the Mustache Brothers, taste local dishes from The Friendly Caterer, and enjoy libations from Budweiser of Columbia and Republic National Distributing Company on the grounds of the Hampton-Preston Mansion while bidding on a variety of standout auction items. Proceeds from the event will support Historic Columbia.
“ We are excited to host the 17th Bluegrass, Bidding, and BBQ silent auction event to support Historic Columbia and the 2021 Annual Fund,” said Patrick Cleary, Palladium president. “This is always a fantastic event that showcases HC’s historic properties in a festive fall setting. We are excited about the live event October 28 and the virtual bidding options that open up this week.”
The Columbia-based Mustache Brothers have been entertaining the state of South Carolina and beyond for over a decade. Devoted followers have grown accustomed to their lively performances filled with a unique blend of bluegrass, classic country, and rock and roll.
The Friendly Caterer has provided top-notch service to the Midlands for 15 years. While offering a variety of specialty items, The Friendly Caterer serves up barbecue, slow cooked for 18 hours on oak and smoke wood, that’s become a local favorite. Guest can enjoy individually boxed meals with a choice of pulled pork, pulled chicken, or vegetarian meals.
In addition, Republic National Distributing Company and Budweiser of Columbia will be offering special libations for the evening.
Tickets for this year’s event, which include food and drink and can be purchased at HistoricColumbia.org, are $30 for Palladium members, $40 for Historic Columbia members and $ 50 for nonmembers. In consideration of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, tickets are limited, and guests will be in socially distanced squares of up to four people. Guests can request squares with friends or be randomly assigned to a square when purchasing tickets.
The silent auction portion of the event opened online October 14, and closes at 10 p.m., October 28. Those bidding are not required to attend the event.
The 17th annual Bluegrass, Bidding and BBQ is sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Blue Moon Pet Sitters, Bowman and Brooke LLP, Budweiser of Columbia, Founders Federal Credit Union, McGriff Insurance Services, Mortgage Network, and Republic National Distributing Company.
