Movement Mortgage and the Chad Kurtz Mortgage Lending Team have been working on a special community project for over a year. They made a commitment to help foster children who are in the care of the South Carolina Youth Advocate Program (SCYAP). Through their hard work and dedication they have donated $6,000 to support these vulnerable youngsters.

“This generous donation will help us provide hygiene items, school supplies, participation in recreational activities, educational support, clothing, and so much more for the special children in our care” said Lex Cole, CEO of SCYAP. “We are thrilled to partner with Movement Mortgage to provide these individualized services and items that will help our youth heal and move forward. We are very grateful to Movement Mortgage for choosing to help foster children, which is a population that often gets overlooked.”

This is an excellent example of a community partnership, which allows local businesses and nonprofit organizations to work together to help those in need in their local communities. There are thousands of children in foster care in South Carolina, and many more such community partnerships are needed to give them the opportunity to grow into their fullest potential.

SCYAP is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides a variety of services to children and families throughout South Carolina. The organization’s largest service is to provide foster homes to children who need them, and it also develops and provides a wide range of therapeutic services to meet the needs of children and their families.
