Miss Hood and Mr. Richards exchange vows November 2

Laura Frances Hood and Alexander Rocchi Richards, both of Columbia, were married November 2 at the Dorothy Walker Chapel, Hammond School in Columbia, South Carolina. Mr. Christopher Brett Angel officiated the 5:30 evening ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Colonel and Mrs. Stanley Vincent Hood, Jr. of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of the late General and Mrs. Stanley Vincent Hood, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Richard Bock, and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Anthony Sorrentino. She is a graduate of Hammond School and the University of South Carolina with a degree in Political Science. She is employed as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley in Columbia.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Chandler Richards Jr. of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Chandler Richards, the late Ms. Ana Delia Mora and the late Mr. Felipe Rocchi. He is a graduate of Hilton Head High School. He received a degree in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation from Georgia Southern University. He is employed as a capacity account manager at C.H. Robinson in Columbia.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Maid of honor was Sarah Catherine Smith of Boston, Massachusetts. Bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters, Rachel Anna Hood and Katherine Judith Hood; Elena Alexandra Gonzalez, and Sarah Anne Brownson, all of Columbia; and her sister-in-law, Celena Courchaine Richards, of Charleston, South Carolina.

The groom’s brother, Michael Chandler Richards of Charleston, South Carolina, served as best man. Groomsmen were Charles Joseph Schramm, Lawson Bradford Terhune, both of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; Michael Khalil Heyward of Sacramento, California; and Kevin Louis Scola of Columbia.

A reception at the Columbia Museum of Art followed the ceremony.

After a honeymoon trip to Grenada, the couple will reside in Columbia.
