Margaret Blakeley graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1934. She attended Benedict College and has been a member of Second Calvary Baptist Church since early childhood. Blakeley was a secretary at one of the first owned black banks in South Carolina, The Victory Savings Bank. She was a cashier selling movie tickets at the once known Black theater in Columbia, Caver Movie Theater. Blakeley began playing the piano at an early age and continues to love playing. She continues to love her music, dancing, and reading.
