
Amaya Benson and Nia Byas, Killian Youth Action Council Leaders, received the Good Neighbor Citizenship Award for organizing a school–wide effort to collect money for the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. Sponsoring State Farm agent, Marilyn Wilson, and Beverly Hiott, lead teacher for service learning and civic engagement, honored these students with the Good Neighbor Citizenship Award. Over $400 was raised for this service learning project. The funds were donated to the Red Cross.
