Junk King expands kingdom with new Columbia location

Local entrepreneurs to lead eco-friendly junk removal service in South Carolina

Columbia residents rejoice as Junk King expands its kingdom under the rule of Andrew and Michelle Lucas as well as Blake Cathey. Junk King Columbia will continue to bring the brand’s unrivaled customer service and ecofriendly approach to the communities of South Carolina.

The Lucases are entering their reign with backgrounds in management, business, and real estate. Prior to Junk King, Andrew managed hotels for more than a decade before making the shift into real estate in 2018. Michelle has a business administration background, previously working in the life insurance industry. The couple currently owns several other businesses in real estate and rents safe and secure housing throughout the midlands of South Carolina. For many years, Cathey has been a leader in the golf community in the Midlands with extensive knowledge of running small businesses. He will take the throne as the managing partner of Junk King.

“Our biggest professional achievement has been starting our entrepreneurial journey. Not only has it allowed us to grow as business owners, but it also allowed us to start and focus on our family,” said Andrew. “We saw a need for a junk removal service in our community, and Junk King is the perfect fit. We are honored to join the Junk King franchise system, and we are looking forward to building the business in our market.”

In addition to the company’s professionalism, eco-friendly recycling and award-winning customer service, businesses and residents alike choose Junk King because of the brand’s state-of-the-art technology systems that allow customers to schedule a pick-up in real time. With the online booking system all it takes is a few clicks, and within a matter of minutes Junk King can be scheduled and the job can be completed.

“It is always wonderful to add new members to our franchise system, and we are so looking forward to welcoming Andrew, Michelle, and Blake with their new location,” said Michael Andreacchi, CEO and co-founder of Junk King Franchise Systems. “Blake and the Lucases are the hard-working, dedicated, and driven individuals that we look for in every franchisee, and we are thrilled to watch their success for the years to come.”

Pricing for Junk King is based on the amount of junk removed. The brand’s trucks are 20 percent larger than the industry average, meaning there is no job it cannot handle. Sixty percent of the junk collected is recycled, rather than being dropped at landfills.
