The Heathwood Hall Lady Highlanders hope to build on last year’s 6-17 record and a first round playoff exit.

Head coach Rich Edwards welcomes back Brooke Edwards; Austin Tuller; Brooklyn Moore; and Leah Allen, who is currently recovering from knee surgery and should come back to the team in January. He also has five newcomers who may provide an impact on the team in Ellie Singerling, Emily Frick, Abby Mullins, Virginia Bowers, and Adelaide Wood.

According to Edwards, the team’s strengths are their energy, hustle, and guard play.

“The girls play for one another, and they are focused on the team,” Edwards said.

Heathwood Hall lacks height, so defense is something Edwards is continually working on with his team.

“Our expectations are to play with high energy and spirit each night regardless of opponent,” Edwards said. “We want to challenge for the top spot in our region, and of course, earn another bid in the SCISA State Tournament.”
