On Friday November 4, Haiti Under God, in partnership with Feed The Hunger, assembled over 420 volunteers at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Columbia and packed more than 118,000 meals for immediate dispatch to the children of the Valley of Hope and Cha Cha Mountain near the city of Port-au-Prince. The “Packathon” event concluded at noon Saturday with prayer and a celebration of God’s faithfulness to His people. “We were blown away by the level of participation and enthusiasm from this church as well as this entire community,” said Bruce Williams, CEO of Haiti Under God. In addition to the sustainable food packets containing the nourishment that a child needs for an entire day, the organization is also shipping 200 Bibles to the children of the region. “The food packets prepared this weekend are a very valuable tool in gathering and reaching the hearts of these children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” said Williams.
