Constan Car Wash, located at 1950 Gervais Street, was demolished earlier this week. It officially closed November of 2022 after 73 years in business. Constan was started by O. Stanley Smith Jr. and his wife, Connie. Along with its automotive repair and car wash capabilities, Constan was also known for housing “Happy,” the tiger, which was later one of the first animals at Riverbanks Zoo.
