Sertoma Sportsarama
The 47th Annual Sertoma Sportsarama was held at Richland One’s Memorial Stadium Thursday, August 18. Ceremonies began at 4:30 pm with introductions of kings and queens from each of the six participating schools. In the first game, Eau Claire surprised Keenan with an onside kick on the opening kickoff and went on to win 12 – 0. In a hard fought rivalry, Dreher defeated Columbia High 13 – 6. In the final contest AC Flora outlasted Lower Richland 13 – 6. AC Flora High School won the coveted Spirit Award.
Highlander Jamboree
The Highlander Jamboree was held on a beautiful moonlit night, Friday, August 19, at Heathwood Hall Stadium. In the first game, the Hammond Skyhawks defeated the Ben Lippen Falcons 24 – 6. In the final game, Heathwood Hall got off to a fast start and held off Cardinal Newman 15 –6.

The Capitol Chevrolet Kick–Off Classic
The Capitol Chevrolet Kick–Off Classic was held at Harry Parone Stadium Friday August 19 and featured Barnwell vs. Fairfield Central, Camden vs. Chesterfield, and Lugoff–Elgin vs. Spring Valley. The teams played two 10–minute quarters each. Fairfield Central handled Barnwell 24–6. Camden and Chesterfield battled to a 0–0 tie and in the grand finale, Spring Valley beat Lugoff–Elgin 17–0.
