Kelsey Carmichael Bickley has joined Main Street District’s team as director of marketing.

Kelly Brown has been named the director of student services for Lexington-Richland School District Five.

The Columbia Chamber’s Midlands Minority Business Accelerator program recently graduated 2022 program participants and announced the 2023 class. Graduating from the 2022 program were eight local, small business owners— Allison Sullivan, Bluestein Attorneys; Debi Schadel, Flock and Rally; Elias Lykes, Defender Firearms & Training; Heather Leigh, Greenhaven Memorial Gardens; Nate Abraham, Carolina Panorama Newspaper; Niketa Galloway, Bizzy Kidz Kab Company; Rozalynn Goodwin, Confidence by GaBBY; and Will Patterson, PatCon Industries. Niketa Galloway received the MBA Excellence Award for her dedication and growth throughout the program. The 2023 class will include Alicia Davis, Davis Tax Consulting & Financial Services, LLC; Brittany Koester, Azalea Coffee Bar; Bryan Tayara, Rosewood Market & Deli; Charity Stewart, The Glow Factory; Cornell Jones, Joseph C Logistics LLC; Eunissa Warnock, The Assignment Agency; Teresa Tidwell-Smith, Meaningful Escapes Boutique Travel Agency; and Timothy Clements, Clements Cleaning Service LLC.

School District Five physical education teacher, Carmen Plemmons, has received an Honor Award for 2022 by the South Carolina Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (SCAHPERD).

Lexington-Richland School District Five elementary assistant principal Melanie Harris has been named 2023 South Carolina Elementary Level Assistant Principal of the year by the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA).

Marquis Solomon has been named the West Columbia Fire Chief.

Jae Kim, franchisee with EXIT Real Estate Solutions in Columbia, was honored with the Bronze Award by EXIT Realty Corp. International.

Nima Sherpa, sales representative with EXIT Real Estate Solutions in Columbia, was honored with the Silver Award by EXIT Realty Corp. International.

Columbia attorney Emma T. Dean has been named executive director of the South Carolina Bar.

Dr. Rick Christman has been appointed acting president of Columbia International University by CIU’s Board of Trustees.
