Dr. Peggy O. Hewlet t, dean of the University of South Carolina’s College of Nursing, has been elected to the board of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
A team of undergraduate students from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina has taken first place in an international case competition held March 18–20 at Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The Moore school was the defending champion and competed against teams from Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The final presentation of the round–robin tournament was a case about Habitat for Humanity. The team, one of the youngest in the competition, comprised freshman Sarah Genay of Charlotte; juniors Saidah Gr imes and Tim Davis of Columbia and Richmond, Va.; respectively, and senior Michael Roglitz of Tampa, Fla. A second Moore school team placed third in the competition. Patrick Demouy has served as faculty adviser to the Moore school’s undergraduate and graduate case teams for 11 years.
University of South Carolina historian Dr. Bobby Donaldson, an associate professor of history and African–American studies and former faculty associate at Preston College, has been appointed to a three– year term as principal of Preston.
