A.C. Flora’s Terriana Gray scored a game-high 34 points in a 67-53 win over the Dreher Lady Blue Devils Friday, February 11.
Chasity Sessions chipped in 15 for A.C. Flora, while Skylar McCrary finished with six.
Imani Williams led the way for Dreher with 18 points. Tahlia Hollis and Ayanna Jacobs finished with 10 each.
Neither team scored until Gray hit a 3-pointer at the 6:17 mark of the first quarter. She followed it up with a bucket and a free throw, and Jaclyn Wright- Thompson chipped in a layup to give the Lady Falcons an 8-0 lead. The Lady Blue Devils got on the board at the 4:08 mark with a bank shot from Jacobs. Williams added a pair of free throws, and Annareyah Ganzy knocked down one-of-two free throws to close the gap to 8-5. A floater and a 3- pointer from Gray, and a layup from McCray led A.C. Flora to a 15-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Williams knocked down a layup and a jumper to start the second quarter and shrink the deficit to 15-13. However, Gray sank six free throws, Wright Thompson added a free throw and a layup, and Sessions chipped in a layup to push the Flora lead to 26-18. Jacobs helped Dreher with a pair of layups, and Ganzy chipped in a free throw to close the gap to 26-23. Sessions responded with a layup to push the Falcon lead to 28-23 at halftime.
Dreher opened the third quarter on a 9-5 run to get within one. Jacobs led the way with four points, Williams chipped in three, and Hollis added two. Then it was A.C. Flora’s turn to go on a run, outscoring Dreher 17-4 to take a 50-36 lead. Gray scored eight points during the run. Sessions added four, Jasmine Frierson chipped in three, and McCrary had two.
The Lady Blue Devils and Lady Falcons each scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to set the final score at 67-53. Sessions led A.C. Flora with six points, Gray had five, and McCrary, Frierson, and Jasmine Craft each scored two. Hollis led Dreher with eight points. Ganzy chipped in five, and Brianna Robinson added four.
