Dreher High School art teacher Katie Pfrommer has been named the 2025 South Carolina Art Educator of the Year by the South Carolina Art Education Association (SCAEA).
The award recognizes a K-12 art teacher who has been a member of the SCAEA for three consecutive years, and demonstrates outstanding teaching, program development, and a strong advocacy for the arts.
“I am honored and overwhelmed to be named the SCAEA Art Educator of the Year. Teaching art is my passion. To be recognized for something I care so deeply about is a wonderful feeling. The art classroom is a magical place and there is never a dull moment,” said Pfrommer.
She will be recognized during the SCAEA’s fall conference in Greenville in November.
