L.W. Conder Elementary teachers and family members shared in a moving experience as they teamed up for the annual Walk for Life campaign sponsored by Palmetto Health Foundation this past Saturday. Every year, Conder has a team that walks in honor of a former teacher, Peggy Tiller, who lost her battle to breast cancer a few years ago.
“The first time I participated in the walk, I was brought to tears as I took in the sea of pink shirts walking for such a united cause,” said Team Captain Linda Steffey. Her daughter shared that she feels it is her responsibility to walk to show her support of those affected by breast cancer.
The group raised over $800 for the Palmetto Health Breast Center this year.
