
The Cayce Police Department appeared before the South Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation (SCLEA) Council to take the final step in receiving re-accreditation.
On September 9 the Cayce Police Department received reaccreditation from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation (SCLEA) Council. The Cayce Police Department, along with several other state and local agencies, appeared before the council to take the final step in receiving reaccreditation.
SCLEA has served as South Carolina’s law enforcement accreditation body since 1999.
“The Cayce Police Department is focused on professionalism and innovative policing measures,” stated Chief Chris Cowan. “This accreditation supports our efforts to provide the highest level of policing and standards, while it increases transparency for our citizens and our businesses. We are proud of our team for its hard work in overcoming obstacles and working to meet SCLEA’s high standards of policing.”
The reaccreditation process covered in-depth examinations and an assessment of the department’s policies, training, evidence, fiscal procedures, and community relations. The public is encouraged to submit comments or questions through the department’s website or on the QR code below.
