Town Hall Meeting —Possible Rezoning for Killian Road will be held Thursday, January 6, 6 p.m., Richland County Adult Activity Center, 7494 Parklane Road. Richland County Councilwoman Gretchen Barron (District 7) is organizing this meeting to discuss a map amendment request for Killian Road in Columbia. The request seeks to rezone the 32-acre parcel in the 100 block of Killian Road from a rural district (RU) to a general commercial district (GC).

Columbia senior living community, Wildewood Downs, will award three local high school seniors with cash prizes up to $2,500 to assist with their post-graduate plans with its Silver Pen Writing Competition. This year’s submissions are based on the topic—“Provide an example of how you have demonstrated leadership to make a positive impact in your community (family, work experience, school, community, services efforts, etc.). Describe the impact of your efforts and why it was meaningful to you.” Submissions are being accepted for the 2022 Silver Pen Awards through February 11, 2022.
