Techo-Bloc, a landscaping products supplier, has announced it has selected Lexington County to establish the company’s first South Carolina operation. The $45 million investment will create 46 new jobs.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) today announced the Healthy Connections Medicaid eligibility office in Richland County has moved to a new location. Friends and Foundation of Richland Library has received a generous $10,000 gift from longtime supporter Frank Baker given in loving memory of his late brother, John Baker, who passed away February 2 at the age of 69 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease.

The City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department will close portions of Riverfront Park effective immediately for public safety during heavy construction. The closure will affect the parking lot and entrance for Riverfront Park North at 4122 River Drive. During this time, trail sections will be closed during the day, with the levee trail and parking lot reopening by 5:30 in the evening. The lower trail will remain out of service until May 21. The park will be open on the weekends of May 3 and 4; May 10 and 11; and May 17 and 18.
