Chapin Commercial Construction, a family-owned-and-operated licensed general contracting company headquartered in Chapin, has announced construction is underway on the new Heavy Iron Cranes headquarters at 4682 Augusta Road in Lexington.

Officials with Voorhees University and Midlands Technical College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony recently to celebrate the grand opening of the Voorhees University Education Center. The EPI Center was established in 2021 to address teacher shortages and diversify the teacher workforce. The new office is located at 423 College Street, Batesburg-Leesville.
