Busbee, B-C teams qualify for state tournament for first time

Busbee Creative Arts Academy and Brookland-Cayce High School Archery Teams have achieved an unprecedented milestone by qualifying for the South Carolina NASP State Tournament in both the IBO and Bullseye categories.

The South Carolina NASP State Tournament will take place at the State Fairgrounds in Columbia with high school archers on March 27 and the middle school competition on March 28.

The achievement marks the first time in the programs’ history that both schools and both teams have secured qualification for the prestigious state tournament.

Following standout performances at the St. James State Qualifier on March 9, the Busbee Creative Arts Archery team clinched first place in both the IBO and Bullseye categories. The Brookland-Cayce High School Archery team secured second place in both categories as well. Both archery teams are poised to showcase their exceptional skills at the upcoming state tournament.

Busbee and Brookland Cayce High School’s archery teams are ready to make their mark on the state stage, their coach said.

“We are incredibly proud of both archery programs for their remarkable achievement in qualifying for the South Carolina NASP State Tournament in both the IBO and Bullseye categories,” said Coach Robin Walsh. “This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication, teamwork, and perseverance of our students. We are grateful for the support of our schools, families, and local community, and we can’t wait to represent our schools and showcase our skills at the state level.”
