Brookland- Cayce High School will induct its newest Hall of Fame member next month.

Lynn Connor Summer will be honored February 10 at the Annual Brookland- Cayce High School Education Foundation Hall of Fame Gala. The event will be held at Seawell’s in Columbia.

Summer, fondly known as the “BC Diva,” worked at Brookland-Cayce High School for more than two decades before her retirement in 2019. She was a health teacher and teacher cadet instructor at the time of her retirement, but she served in a number of other roles through the years at Brookland-Cayce High and elsewhere, among them were as a substitute teacher, PE teacher, science lab technician, gymnastics and swim coach, and Brookland Cayce cheerleading coach. She loved to remind students, “You are unique and valuable, therefore, you must act unique and valuable.”

The February 10 event will begin at 6 p.m. with a social hour, followed by the induction ceremony at 7. Tickets are $30 per person, and $350 for a corporatesponsored table. They may be purchased on the foundation’s website, bchsfoundation.org. Seawell’s is located at 1125 Rosewood Drive.

The Brookland-Cayce High School Education Foundation supports the school’s students through scholarships and other activities.
