Blythewood graduate wins statewide award

Joshua Yow of Blythewood High School is this year’s winner of the S.C. Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities Annual Journalism Contest. The winner of the Annual Journalism Contest receives a four-year scholarship to the South Carolina state-supported institution of his or her choice provided that the winner is otherwise qualified. The scholarship pays for undergraduate tuition and fees. Each institution has its own definition of tuition and fees. At Blythewood High School, Joshua participated in the Model UN Club and is currently a member of the Beta Club and the National Honor Society. He recently attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Joshua plans to attend Clemson University in the Fall. Yow is pictured receiving the award from Audrey Brown, director of communications, S.C. Vocational Rehabilitation.
