
The Blythewood Bengals, 2010 S.C. Class 4A Golf State Champions (l–r): Front—Josh Hinson, Parker Allen, Head Coach Ron Intermill, and Damon Postal; Back—Athletic Director Vince Lowry, Josh Lorenzetti, Max Faile, Assistant Coach Allen Hancock, Shane Rogan, and Principal Keith Price. The Bengals shot a 595 at the class 4A state tournament held at the Furman University golf course May 10 and 11. Their score was 23 strokes better than second place Wando. Parker Allen, Shane Rogan, and North Augusta’s Matt Nesmith tied for second at 223 behind individual champion Stephen Behr (217) of West Florence. In a playoff, Nesmith was awarded second place and was followed by Allen then Rogan. Josh Lorenzetti tied for seventh place with a score of 225. This is Intermill’s fourth state championship. The last one came in 1990 at Spring Valley High School. He is set to retire after this season. Assistant Coach Allen Hancock is one of Intermill’s former players from Spring Valley.
