The Richland County Ag+Art Tour is returning for its highly anticipated annual event, offering residents and visitors a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of agriculture and art in the heart of Richland County. The tour will take place Saturday, June 7, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and Sunday, June 8, 12–4 p.m., showcasing local farms, vibrant art studios, and community markets across the county.

This free, family-friendly event invites attendees to discover the diverse agricultural tradition of Richland County with opportunities to tour working farms, meet local artisans, and witness the creativity that thrives within the region. From handcrafted pottery and paintings to fresh produce and farm animals, the Ag+Art Tour offers something for everyone.

Tour stops include farms and farmers’ markets with art at each location. Artisans on the tour range from weavers, painters, musicians, storytellers, metalworkers, and craftsmen to poets and live musical performances. Some farms will offer value-added products, such as jarred and canned foods, honey, baked goods, or even farm-fresh meals. There is no fee to attend. Visitors can start and stop their tour at any location.

“The Ag+Art Tour is a wonderful way to connect with our community and experience the rich agricultural and artistic talents that make Richland County unique,” said Amanda Jones, Richland County Ag+Art Tour coordinator. “This event brings people together in celebration of local farming, art, and culture, and we are excited to welcome guests of all ages.”

Key features of the 2025 event include:

Farm Visits: Take a self-guided tour through working farms, where visitors can interact with farmers, learn about sustainable agriculture practices, and enjoy farm fun including guided tours, hands-on workshops, and even chicken races.

Art Stops: Explore local artists’ studios and galleries, as well as artisans at each tour site. Discover a wide range of artwork, from fine art to handmade crafts. Many artists will demonstrate their creative processes, allowing attendees to gain a deeper appreciation for their work.

Dine on the Tour: Throughout the tour, enjoy food trucks, bakers, and local cuisine that highlight the county’s culinary heritage.

Interactive Experiences for Families: Special events for children, including farm animal interactions, scavenger hunts, and more, will make this an ideal outing for families.

Tour sites in Richland County will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 7-8, unless specified otherwise on the Ag+Art Tour website. The locations involved in the tour include AA Farms, Blossom Plant & Produce, Cottle Strawberry Farm, Crooked Cedar Farm, Doko Farm, Fable Farms, Gardener’s Outpost, Grow Your Garden with Sal, Lakewood Tree Farm, Lewis+Clark, Mr. Bunky’s Market, One Hubcap Farm, Paradise Cay Plantation, Purple Tuteur Farm, Stormwater Studios, The Living Wright Foundation’s Farm at Senate’s End, and The Purple Mushroom.

“The annual South Carolina Ag+Art Tour adds five new counties and brings back 17 former ones to feature over 200 tour sites in 2025. Now in its 13th year, this free self-guided farm and art tour is a great way to educate people about where their food and fiber come from and introduce them to local artisans,” says Will Culler, Clemson Extension Agribusiness agent and tour director.

“We are proud of the commitment of our farms, artisans, and county teams. Because of that, we can sustain continued growth,” Culler added. “One of our goals has been to give people a better knowledge of what is produced in their backyard and help them to support local businesses while making healthier food choices. This event does that by putting food and product with a face.”

The tour began in York County in 2012 and has added at least one new county each year since. The interest in the South Carolina Ag+Art Tour continues to be phenomenal. It is already the largest free farm tour in the nation and has drawn over 150,000 visitors since its inception.

This year the tour will include farms and artisans in 22 South Carolina counties, with different counties participating each weekend in May and June. The 2025 schedule includes these counties—May 3, Hampton, Lancaster, and McCormick; May 3-4, Pickens; May 10, Aiken, Newberry; May 10-11, Berkeley; May 17 Abbeville, Bamberg, Calhoun, Colleton, Laurens, and Anderson; May 31, Kershaw, and Lexington. Richland County will be June 7-8

Remember that working animals are part of farm life so leave personal pets at home and be considerate of those folks inviting you to their place of business. Farms involve intense labor, scheduled tasks, and sometimes less than pristine conditions. Be aware of these beforehand, relax and enjoy the experience.

Richland County attendees are encouraged to plan their visit by using the official Ag+Art Tour map, which will guide them to participating farms and artists’ studios. With suggested tour routes (Blythewood, East of Assembly, West of Assembly, and Lower Richland) it is so easy to choose and explore your favorite tour sites and make the most of your day.

The S.C. Ag+Art Tour is coordinated by county-level planning teams led by Clemson University Cooperative Extension.

The Richland Soil and Water Conservation District administers the County’s Ag+Art Tour with the support of Richland County, the county’s Conservation Commission, and a number of public and private sponsors.
