Dominion Energy, USC announce scholarship grant in memory of Army ROTC graduate


A grant from the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation will support a scholarship at the University of South Carolina in memory of U.S. Army Maj. Edward J. Murphy, a distinguished graduate, and the only Army ROTC graduate from the university to be killed in the line of duty. He died in a helicopter crash in April 2005 during Operation Enduring Freedom. Wildewood Downs Singers honor Veterans

A Veterans Day Tribute by the Wildewood Downs Singers was held November 11 directed by Paula Wilson with Nola Covington on the piano. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Sarah Perkins, followed by The Star-Spangled Banner led by Helen Daeger. An Armed Forces Medley honoring each branch of the military was followed by a Patriotic sing-along.
