Crime down in South Kilbourne neighborhood

The South Kilbourne Neighborhood Association held its monthly meeting Thursday, January 8.

With the holiday season over, PACE Officer Orlando Santos reviewed the crime statistics for the month of December and the past year.

There were two burglaries in December, one on Elizabeth Darby Lane and one on Beltline Boulevard. Santos said a television was stolen during the burglary on Elizabeth Darby Lane, which occurred on December 9. Some electronics were stolen during the burglary on the 900 block of Beltline Boulevard, which occurred on December 13.

There were also two auto break-ins reported, both occurred on Deerwood Street.

According to Lieutenant Ron Felder, the crime statistics for 2014 in the south region were down from the previous year. Burglaries were down 34%, auto break-ins 10.89%, and total crimes 12.66%.
