Local theater donates to breast cancer fund

Cast of Heck the Dolls with Chardonnay Cast of Heck the Dolls with Chardonnay On Stage Productions, located in the Old Mill in Lexington, recently donated to the Crystal Smith Breast Cancer Fund as a result of donations given at its November Production of Heck the Dolls with Chardonnay. The play, written by local playwright, Lou Clyde, featured a breast cancer survivor as one of the main characters, and all proceeds from Chardonnay January 11, 2019 wine donations were designated to be given to an organization involved with breast cancer research and support.

Lexington Medical Center Foundation supports the care philosophy of the Lexington Medical Center as it fights cancer alongside its patients. The Foundation provides programs that help patients focus on their treatment and survivorship. These programs help ensure patients can meet their basic needs, as well as access to critical medications and financial assistance with living expenses.

The program On Stage chose to support is the Crystal Smith Breast Cancer Fund which provides breast cancer patients with wigs, mastectomy bras, and post-surgical kits.

A check for $415 was presented to the foundation by executive director of On-Stage Theater Robert Harrelson, playwright Lou Clyde, play director Debi Young, and actors Tracy Brown and Julie Fear.
