The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded a grant to United Way of the Mid- lands for Resilient Richland, a new initiative to recognize, prevent, and treat trauma among children and youth in Richland County.

The South Carolina Association of Veterinarians (SCAV) recognized six individuals for their sterling work in the veterinary field. Dr. Andy Roark was named the South Carolina Veterinarian of the Year. Dr. Clyde Warner Jordan is the 2018 South Carolina Distinguished Veterinarian of the Year. Jimmy Cooper was named the 2018 South Carolina Licensed Veterinary Technician of the Year. Billi Jo Baker received the 2018 South Carolina Veterinary Hospital Employee of the Year award. Linda Provence was named the 2018 South Carolina Humanitarian of the Year, and Lt . Kevin Hoover was named the 2018 recipient of the SCAV Public Service Award.
