Dr. Rush and Mr. Brown exchange wedding vows September 29

Dr. Brittany Wilkes Rush-Brown Dr. Brittany Wilkes Rush-Brown Dr. Brittany Wilkes Rush and Mr. Robert Bruce Brown Jr., both of Charlotte, North Carolina, were united in marriage September 29 at Shandon Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina. The Reverend Susannah Hager Cook officiated at the ceremony at five o’clock in the evening.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Lee Rush Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Bobby Lee Rush of Camden, South Carolina, and the late Mr. Bobby Lee Rush. She is also the granddaughter of the late Mr. Lex Weston Wilkes of Chester, South Carolina and the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Chewning Smith of Clinton, South Carolina. She is a graduate of Dreher High School, Columbia, South Carolina, and Clemson University of Clemson, South Carolina, with a degree in health sciences with a concentration in pre-professional health studies. She received her doctorate of dental medicine from The Medical University of South Carolina. She is currently practicing in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The groom is the son of Ms. Minnie Dianne Herrington and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruce Brown of Marion, South Carolina. He is the grandson of Mrs. Bruce Lide Brown and the late Bruce Lide Brown of Marion, South Carolina. He is also the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. David John Herrington of Marion, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Pee Dee Academy in Mullins, South Carolina, and The University of South Carolina, with a degree in Political Science. Mr. Brown is employed as a regional manager in North and South Carolina with Constellation Brands.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Her dress was an A-line gown with a V-neckline made by Modern Trousseau of Nashville. The bodice and skirt were constructed of layers of Thai silk, Chantilly lace, and silk tulle embroidered with French Aloncon lace applique with silk buttons down the back.

The maid of honor was Ms. Elizabeth Grace McDonald of Charleston, South Carolina. Bridesmaids were the sisters of the groom: Ms. Sara Dianne Brown, of Columbia, South Carolina, and Ms. Sally Richardson Brown of Marion, South Carolina. Other bridesmaids included Mrs. Georgia Carlton Altus of Columbia, South Carolina; Mrs. Elizabeth Jones Lynch of Camden, South Carolina; Dr. Sallie Gilmore Marchant of Asheville, North Carolina; Ms. Maria Claire Rebula of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; Ms. Susan Warren Shirer of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Dr. Lindsey Belk Williams of Burlington, Vermont.

The groom’s father served as the best man. Groomsmen were the bride’s brother, Mr. Scott Carter Rush of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; Mr. John Frances Daley of Columbia, S.C.; Mr. Joseph Daniel DeCamilla of Charlotte, N.C.; Mr. James Edward Fickling of Columbia, S.C.; and Mr. William Albert Grice of Atlanta, Ga.

Liturgists were Mr. Douglas Marsh Bryan of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and Dr. Karen Konomi Wolf of Charleston, South Carolina. Greeters were Mr. Gene Guyton Campbell of Greenville, South Carolina and Mr. Ryan James Principe of Columbia, South Carolina. Program attendants were Dr. Danielle Sophia Guerrino of Jupiter, Florida, and Dr. Anna Gilliam Malone of Nashville, Tennessee.

A reception at the Lace House of the Governor’s Mansion Complex followed the ceremony. The couple enjoyed a mini-honeymoon in Highlands, North Carolina and now reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.
