Carolina Jazz Society celebrates 60th anniversary



The Carolina Jazz Society celebrated its 60th anniversary on November 4 with a concert at the Lourie Center in Columbia. Pictured are the players, Dustin Retzlaff, bass; Charlie Wilbanks, banjo; Bruce Clark, trombone; Aletha Jacobs, keyboard and vocals; Dick Goodwin, trumpet; and Jim Hall, percussion. Doug Graham, clarinet, a regular member of the band was absent.The Carolina Jazz Society presents a concert the first Sunday of each month from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the Lourie Center.
