Rotary Club of Forest Acres provides Happy Feet to students

The Rotary Club of Forest Acres showed its support of local children Sunday, August 19 through its Happy Feet program. The club worked with school social workers to identify 108 children who would not be able to have new shoes for the school year. The club then invited the children and their parents to join them at a local shoe store to select shoes for the school year. Rotarians Milton Wright (committee chairman), Laura Griese, and Barbara Luksik helped children select and try on the shoes of their choice. The school representatives added a treat for the kids by bringing books for each child to take home along with their new shoes. The Rotary Club of Forest Acres meets at Tree of Life on Trenholm Road each Wednesday at 1 p.m. for lunch, fellowship, and service to the community.
