Dorothy Tobe Hammond celebrates 85 years

Dorothy Tobe Hammond Dorothy Tobe Hammond Dorothy Tobe Hammond celebrated her 85th birthday with a weekend bash July 13–15. Her birthday was July 13, and her birthday celebration was hosted by her children and grandchildren.

On Friday, she shared cake and ice cream with her children.

On Saturday, many of her 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren honored her with a cookout at her daughter, Islet Guider’s home.

The finale concluded Sunday with an appreciation service and a parade of hats at Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ where Mrs. Dorothy has been a member for over 50 years. It was followed by a reception at Lively Stone Temple Fellowship Hall, celebrating with her was family, dear friends, her Pastor Virgil and First Lady Chrystal Briggs, and church families from S.C. and Ga.

Mrs. Dorothy never merely looks out for her own interest, but has devoted a lifetime of looking out for the interest of others. She loves helping her family, her neighborhood, and her state. As the state-youth director for Triumph Church, and through her faithful services, she has touched the lives of many throughout the country. She loves Bible study/Bible reading, going to church, gardening, visiting historic national sites, and entertaining family and friends in her home. She is a retiree of S.C. Dept. of Mental Health.
